Work, save & invest

It sounds boring and it is, but this route is achievable by literally everyone.

Get a job, learn a trade, start your career and work as a normal person. Hopefully you’ll be able to climb the corporate ladder and eventually make decent money, maybe even a 6 figure income…

But if not, that isn’t actually a problem

Because if you invest just $800 a month into a low cost ETF fund that tracks the S&P 500, you will get rich (very slowly)

After 10 years you’ll have $180,000

After 20 years you’ll have $650,000

After 30 years you’ll have $2,000,000

Rich! Finally! You’ve achevied your goals and you can go jet skiing in Dubai…

Except now you’re old, tired and look like a dick driving that sports car

AND you had to sacrifice all your disposable income for years to get there

But you are technically now, rich!

Not exactly the dream that we all hold is it? So what about option 2?

Start a career & turn it into a business

This is a route seen in every country all over the world…

Pick a career, something at-least half decent

You could be an actuary, an accountant, a lawyer, an architect, or literally anything else

Do your time in university (as dull as it sounds)

Get a job, and learn the trade. Pay attention, absorb information, and build a name for yourself in this industry

Then after grinding out 5 years of further education and 10 years of the trade, go off on your own and start a business

Even a rinky-dink accounting firm can return half a million bucks a year in a Medium Cost of Living city…

So you’ve now achieved the great American dream, you own your business, and make a decent living enough for most of the high life (just not quite it all)

BUT, it took your 15 years of hard work, and slaving to make someone else rich to get there

You’re in your late 30s now, and the kids are demanding more and more of your time

AND once again you realise that you’re a little bit too old to look cool driving that Porsche 911…
